Veterans First Ltd's mission statement is
"Preventing homelessness and stabilizing lives among our Women Veterans while providing referrals, resources and information to all Veterans, their families and caregivers." The leadership team at VFL has been incredibly supportive and encouraging of our youth volunteers. Working with VFL provides Y4T with many opportunities to make an impact in our local veteran community.

Y4T serves with Daisy Mountain Veterans throughout the year. On the third Tuesday of each month, we sort and cut plastic bags to be made into plarnballs. Talented crocheters create plastic mats for homeless veterans. Families and youth groups are encouraged to participate in this project. Y4T also provides assistance with various events hosted by DMV, including the traditional Memorial Poppy flower campaign prior to Memorial Day. Many of our youth volunteers are members of DMV.

Teamsters Military Assistance Program provides training to help military personnel with the transition to civilian sector careers. Through this community partnership, Y4T gathers and distributes hotel toiletries and donated items in care packages for service members and backpacks for homeless veterans. The support from associates of Teamsters Military Assistance Program makes it possible for Youth for Troops to continue to meet the needs of others.

Youth for Troops works with The Enclave at Anthem to encourage building relationships through a monthly event called First Tuesdays that includes dining companionship and patriotic-focused projects. This is a great opportunity for many generations of community members to work together for a great cause. All ages are encouraged to participate.

Guard Riders & Arizona Patriot Guard

Multiple Chapters

Youth for Troops is honored to help Old Guard Riders AZ and Arizona Patriot Guard provide honor guards and flag displays at local veteran events and funerals at the National Cemetery in Phoenix. These groups desire to show respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities. This opportunity is available to everyone. Please, join the Y4T Honor Guard email list to receive last-minute updates on opportunities to hold a flag to honor the fallen.

Join us the 2nd Monday of the month at the Outlets at Anthem with Packages From Home where we pack boxes for men and women serving overseas. Bones From Home is a program providing items in care packages for military working dogs. Packages of Hope provides food and hygiene items for veterans in need. Serving opportunities include packing boxes, gathering appreciation letters or cards to pack, and decorating boxes used for shipment.

Youth for Troops is grateful to the talented graphic designer, Josh Nance. His skills and genuine interest in our mission created a strong visual image for our logo. His advice and encouragement keeps our media presentation and branding looking sharp.

Youth for Troops is honored to serve and participate at the Patriot Run 4 Honor House. This fundraiser benefits Operation Healing Journey. This 3-month proactive program offers an alternative approach to fill the transitional and medical gaps from the departure of the military into the civilian sector. This program combines community resources with traditional medical practices to empower veterans during their transitional and healing journey.

Soroptimist International of the Kachinas organizes a care package drive that is specifically for female warriors. This volunteer organization partners with a local talk radio station to pack hundreds of boxes with items needed or desired by deployed women. Thank you for allowing us to pack with you.
